The project Sustainability – Education for a Greener Future encompasses several aspects. Firstly, we aim to establish a sustainable Urban Sports Childcentre. We are currently in discussions with other affiliated foundations to acquire land where we can construct an environmentally friendly building. The construction of the center will employ energy-efficient methods, sustainable materials, and solar panels to maximize self-sufficiency. Additionally, we will eliminate the use of gas, taking a step towards a carbon-neutral structure.

In addition to the sustainable building, this foundation places great emphasis on education. We believe that awareness and knowledge are essential for sustainable behavior. Therefore, we will develop educational programs focused on sustainability, environmental awareness, and nature conservation. These programs will be tailored to different age groups, enabling us to engage children in green activities in a playful and interactive manner.

An important component of the educational program will be the integration of a vegetable garden. We aim to provide children with the opportunity to learn about nature, food production, and the importance of healthy nutrition. By cultivating their own vegetables and herbs, they will gain valuable experiences and become aware of the benefits of a sustainable food system.

To ensure the success of this project, we seek collaboration with local sustainability organizations, sports associations, and businesses that share the same vision. By working together, we can create synergy and pool expertise to have a greater impact. We will also involve experts in the development and delivery of educational workshops and training sessions, ensuring that both volunteers and staff at De Kanteling are well-prepared in the field of sustainability.

The budget for this project includes various elements such as land usage, construction of the sustainable kindcentrum, installation of solar panels and other sustainability applications, as well as costs for educational programs, materials, and collaborations.

With the project Sustainability – Education for a Greener Future, our aim is to strive towards a sustainable and greener future for both children and the community. We believe that creating awareness and providing education on sustainability will make a valuable contribution to the well-being of our society and the preservation of our planet.
